Strategic Objectives

Discover how to craft SMART objectives—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time‑bound—to align your strategy and drive performance with StratNavApp.com's framework.

We use Goals to set long-term direction, and then break these down SMART Objectives to facilitate execution.

SMART stands for:

  • S – Specific: Clearly define what is to be achieved. The objective should be focused and unambiguous.

  • M – Measurable: Include criteria to track progress and determine when the goal has been achieved.

  • A – Achievable (or Attainable): Set a goal that is realistic given available resources and constraints.

  • R – Relevant: Ensure the goal aligns with broader business objectives or strategic priorities.

  • T – Time-bound: Set a deadline or time frame for achieving the objective.

For example, we might have a goal to "Improve Customer Satisfaction" and break this down into an Objective to "Achieve an NPS score of 50 by December 2026".

You can also set multiple Objectives for a single goal. For example, if you don't think NPS capture everything you need to track customer satisfaction you could set other complementary objectives alongside that one.
