You can add Organisations which are Competitors in the Competition Section.

By linking to another element of your strategy

You can link an existing or a new Organisation to most elements of your business strategy, such as Strategic Insights, to Process, Goals, Meetings, etc.

When editing another element of your strategy, scroll down to the Do Next section and click "Add Organisations related to this...".

Start typing the name of the Organisation in the input box which opens up. If there are existing Organisations which match, you can click on one of them to link to it, otherwise finish typing the name of the Organisation and press Enter to add it.

Adding details about Organisations

You can capture the following information about Organisations:

  1. Name: The name of the organisation.

  2. Type: The type of Organisation, as in Competitor, Partner/Supplier, Customer or Other Organisation.

Note, that the type of Organisation will impact what other information you can capture about the Organisation. This is especially true of Competitors. For Organisations that are competitors, you can also choose whether you want to display the organisation on the Strategy Canvas. Competitors also include scores and explanations of how well they perform against the identified Competitive Factors.

If you don't know the URL, click on the Arrow Icon next to the URL input and StratNavApp.com will initiative a Google Search to help you find it. Once you've entered the URL, clicking on the Arrow Icon next to the URL input will take you directly to that URL.

  1. People: who work for the organisation, or are otherwise associated with it. For example, you could indicate the team members who are responsible for doing competitor research on a competitor.
  2. Groups: to which the organisation belongs. For example, you could link an organisation that is a customer to the customer segment to which it belongs.
  3. Insights: related to the organisation.
  4. Actions or Initiatives: which are about or which involve the organisation.
  5. Processes: in which the organisation plays a role.
  6. Goals or Objectives: in which the organisation plays a role as a performer or a beneficiary.
  7. Meetings: at which the organisation was discussed.
